HSR 85
Below are listed two weapons potentially harmful to arresting officers. This information was copied with permission from editions of the Homeland Security Report, compiled by Anthony M. Davis.
Keychain Knife
This week's Officer Safety item adds to the long string of varying keychain knives available on the market. This item when closed looks like a small key fob about the size of a key. The overall length (when closed) is 2-inches. The knife blade measures 1-5/8 inches in length. This item could possibly pass through a security screening point as a simple key chain. Law Enforcement and Security Professionals should remain mindful of small cutting items such as these.
![]() Neck Knife
This week's Officer Safety item is a necklace knife sold on the Internet as the "Cat?s Claw". This item comes with a small sheath that can be worn around the neck, attached to a belt or hidden inside clothing. The knife is similar to the "Ring Knife" published in this report in the last couple weeks. The overall length of the knife is 4-inches with a blade length of 2-inches. This knife could inflict serious injuries or death and can easily be concealed within the hand of a suspect. Law Enforcement and Security Professionals should be mindful of deadly cutting or stabbing weapons such these when dealing with suspects.
