Summary
While most people would consider low pay as the number one factor for police officer turnover, this is not necessarily the case in the Southeast.  One recent survey found that officers resign for a variety of reasons, and that those who left had higher levels of satisfaction with work conditions and financial benefits than those who remained. Administrators who analyze the reasons for voluntary resignations will be better able to serve their departments and community in the future.
