N_DEx Program
NEW:
FBI/IACP's Law Enforcement National Data Exchange (N-DEx) Program
Alabama Chiefs of Police Association Winter Training Pre-Conference Workshop
Information sharing has become a mission critical component of today's public safety mandate for local, county, state, tribal and federal agencies to enhance crime fighting efforts and prevent terrorism.
N-DEx is a powerful investigative tool that allows law enforcement agencies to submit and query incident data to make connections between persons, places, events, and crime characteristics - linking information across jurisdictions - allowing officers to 'connect the dots' between data that is not apparently related.
The IACP, in partnership with the FBI, is delivering a communications and educational outreach program to promote awareness and use of N-DEx, a free resource for the criminal justice community. This Alabama executive briefing will be presented by subject matter expert Lt. Pete Fagan, (ret.) Virginia State Police, and Tim Bryan, former Alabama Police Chief and city manager who will conduct presentations on how individual agencies can participate in N-DEx. This workshop will discuss openly with the law enforcement community the foundation beneath and benefits of nationally sharing incident, offense, arrest and other criminal justice information between all local, state, and federal agencies through N-DEx.
The presentation will be on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (CT) at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, 201 Tallapoosa Street, Montgomery, Alabama and there is no cost to attend this training opportunity.
